Gary has a haircut!

I am going to face the chop for a cause very close to my heart. I am having my luscious locks cut off for the Rob Burrow Centre for MND and also for the Yorkshire Coast Group of MND support which helps people living with the disease and their families to access vital care and support.

Sir Kev is getting all that lovely fresh air and exercise and I have to stay at home, sit on a chair and get my beloved hair cut off!!

Joking apart, I feel a bit of a phony when you see what the great Sir Kevin Sinfield has put his body through. He is truly heroic and selfless.

It began as a joke, Covid came along with its multiple lockdowns, and I jokingly said I would not have my hair cut until we were “back to normal”. But if we can do anything at all that raises money for this fantastic cause then maybe it’s ok for me to be called a “lightweight”.

With Rugby in my bones as a former grade one ref and a coach for English and Scottish rugby league, it gives me great pleasure to be able to fundraise for this worthy cause in support of the incredibly courageous and undeniably legendary Rob Burrow.
