Helen Carby is raising money for DEBRA
My story
Living in a close knit village, everybody was devastated with the diagnosis of Junctional EB, (Epidermolysis Bullosa), with Pyloric Atresia for a new baby born to a popular local family.
The feeling of being unable to do anything to help except moral support was profound and in time we all found our ways of supporting in our own ways.
My way of supporting is to run The Great North Run on 8 September in aid of DEBRA UK - the charity providing support and research into this awful condition.
If you can find it within yourself to sponsor me for The Great North Run then we would all be so grateful - and don't forget the Gift Aid if you are a UK Tax Payer!
I am pleased to be able to say that despite there being no cure for EB, the baby is doing well with lots of love from a fantastic family and local community. Let's raise lots of money to help this fantastic charity support everybody affected by this condition and fund research to help find a cure!
