My story
I am running the Great South Run this year in support of DEBRA, which both supports those with dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa and funds research. You may have heard of this as 'Butterfly Skin'. It is a life threatening genetic condition which drastically reduces life expectancy in those with it. This is a very personal cause for me as I have the hereditary version or simplex version, which results in blistering of predominantly the feet and hands due to heat, humidity and/or friction. Whilst it affects my life choices, I cannot imagine how it feels live with the dystrophic version.
