Harry Wye - London Marathon 2024

The idea of running a marathon has always been on my mind and I'm using this opportunity to run the 2024 London Marathon on behalf of a the Lord’s Taverners.

After completing a 10k back in July, I immediately got the urge to go online and book the London Half in September, closely followed by another half in October. By this point, I knew it was time to commit and sign up for the 2024 London Marathon - Instantly remembering that those 5am runs were about to become a reality... Whilst I have the urge to tell everyone that I was was officially running a marathon, I find myself justifying the many reasons to owning more than 3 pairs of running shoes - all of which serve a different purpose I must add!

The Lord’s Taverners exists to positively impact the lives of young people facing the challenges of inequality.

They work across the UK and beyond to provide inclusive and impactful cricket programmes (Wicketz, Super 1's and Table Cricket), empowering young people with disabilities and from disadvantaged communities to develop the knowledge, skills, capabilities and confidence required to overcome the challenges of inequality, raise their aspirations and reach their potential.

My family have a close working relationship with the Taverners, who contribute to the charity by converting bespoke wheelchair accessible minibuses for young and disabled people at SEN schools supported by the charity. They work above and beyond by raising vital funds to assist the Lords Taverners with new vehicles and the many programmes that are provided across the country.
