Our story
Hello, my name is Hunter and I am 8.
Pussycat Lodge is very special to me.
When I was 6 we adopted Hershey from Pussycat Lodge. I have autism, ADHD and a neurological disorder. We decided to adopt a cat as apparently they can be very helpful for children like me to regulate our emotions.
Hershey has completely changed my life. He makes me feel better when I am sad and he is a very important member of our family.
We want to help pussycat Lodge to get their new shelter space so that they can rescue other cats like our Hershey. He is the kindest cat and we are so glad that they helped him in his time of need.
There are an estimated 120,000 cats in UK rescues waiting to be adopted. We decided to use that number as inspiration for our estimate of 120,000 steps in July. We did some research, apparently 120,000 steps for an 8 year old works out as about 39 -45 miles. We have set the goal to walk at least 45 miles in July to help Pussycat Lodge and other cats like Hershey.

Our updates
Just a little over 1.2 miles last night. Hunter had a lovely walk and play in Rayleigh Mount & King George's Playing fields.
The first walk is complete! 6.1 miles in total.

We did hope to upload a video here that we have from Hunter saying a big thank you, but apparently we will need to use a link from somewhere like YouTube for example, so we are thinking of making a YouTube channel for Hunter to upload regular updates on to throughout July, which we in theory would be able to link / share on here.
Hunter is incredibly touched by the kindness of so many people, a large amount of which he has never even met before. Thank you. 🐱
