One Marathon done... three more to go!!

Completing my 8th London Marathon for the TAVS this April was something else.. incredibly tough of course, amazing to have my two sons near the finish line and the level of support and encouragement in the form of donations, getting on for £2,500.00 made it one to remember. Somehow I was fitter than when I did my first one 10 years go. 

Since that first rodeo, my understanding of how the Lord’s Taverners use the money raised in this event to change lives, to bring happiness and progression by putting exercise, health and competition in young hearts has grown so much.

Most recently that centres on Khayam Nawaz. This hero is the Head Coach of the Wicketz hub in Luton, my hometown, where top notch sessions are delivered FOR FREE to many many children throughout the year in mostly South Asian communities. The Lord’s Taverners fund this and your money, hopefully lots of it, will contribute to this roaring success.

NOW THEN... one of my best mate's, Charlie, and I are turning up the dial in an effort to boost this year's fundraising even further. With a self-funded trip North, starting on the Solway and ending in the North Sea. Walking around 90miles (THREE MARATHONS) in three days this July, wild-camping in between covering the distance and sadly, carrying all the gear we need to get COAST-to-COAST along Hadrian's Wall. It might have kept the Romans out of Scotland but the rolling hills and weather won't halt our march. 

For K to keep doing what he’s brilliant at, I need to once again ask you to donate; to find £20, £30 or £50 to drop here and in return I am doing my bit. All the way across our land.

Life could be so much harder… we are lucky… with a reasonably healthy body, we can put it to work to benefit others and smile wide whilst doing it. I put myself in the shoes of the children that the TAVS help country-wide and it is more fuel for the fire, so many young girls and boys need support like this and whilst this is not a life & death charity, it’s still so so important and deserves attention.

Come on Charlie, let’s rock and roll!
