Marc McOwens is raising money for Southend Mencap
My story
Hi all. Who says the manager of an organisation simply sits behind a desk and never sees the light of day??!! I am running the London Marathon on Sunday 17th April 2011 and will be raising as much money as possible for my charity, Southend Mencap. We support the needs and interests of everyone with a learning disability as well as those of their parents and carers in the south east of Essex. All monies raised by my run will go to purchasing new and much needed equipment for our 8 clubs that we run for the learning disabled: Smash sports, Music school, MODS drama, Friendship Group, TopCats social, 5-8s holiday, R&R for 8-16 year olds and 16+ social club. In terms of my thoughts on doing the marathon...I'm really looking forward to it! Honest! Am loving the training, building my stamina up and will be ready for the day.
