Our story

In little over 5 weeks  we will be taking on my biggest challenge ever along with both my daughters Amber and Robyn.
On April 19th we will be taking to the start line of the Manchester Marathon.

It will be a big ask but still not as hard as what my brother Michael has been going through for the last 18yrs, in 2008 he was diagnosed with a rare Blood cancer, after 2 bone marrow transplants we were happy to hear the news he was in remission .

That was until 2024 when he was informed he had another form of cancer which would require surgery.  I'm happy to say that the surgery was successful and he was in the clear again.

Then last  year during his regular scans they saw a shadow on his lung.  This was the start to more Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy for lung cancer and he is now currently going through the same again for bowel cancer.

Everyone has been affected by Cancer at some point of their lives, please give as much or as little as you can, no amount of is to small.

After speaking with Mike we agreed we would support The National Association of Blood Bikes (NABB) as without them he wouldn't be here today.

Everyone supports the big charities, let's not forget the little ones too.

Our updates

Big step up on the running this week as we rolled towards the end of the Peak phase.  Amber & I completed 32km on Saturday, which was rather nice running along the river Tees.

First run 🏃‍♀️ back for me yesterday after a chest infection.
The need to get some time in the legs was needed so I volunteered at Park run and decided to join Amber on her run back home.  Nice & easy pace as she was completing 28k.

Robyn ran 32k last weekend in the horrendous weather around the Croft racing circuit, so both girls have the distance in their legs over me.

Hopefully this week goes well and I'll look at doing a long one next weekend.

Unfortunately, all running has stopped for me this week due to a chest infection.  Hopefully taking a week off and clearing this up properly will help me in the long run.

Both Amber and Robyn have increased their running miles this week and are doing amazing, let's hope I get chance to get a long run in before I need to start tapering.

Thanks to all those that have donated, it is most appreciated.
