PATnic - Southampton, The Waterside & New Forest areas

In March 2022, our family dog, Arlo the chocolate Labrador successfully passed his assessment to become a therapy dog. A year on and we have both thoroughly enjoyed our journey so far, visiting our local schools as part of PAT's Read2Dogs scheme. We have also (nervously for me!) given a couple of 'Show & Tell' talks to a local group of Cubs and an infant school as part of their Children's Mental Health week.

Arlo amazes me every visit, with his patience and gentle nature, the bond he creates with the children and we have seen some unbelievable and heart-warming changes to these kids. We both look forward to many more years of visits together.

This year Pets As Therapy is celebrating 40 years of therapeutic visits, so it's a great opportunity for people and pets to come together and celebrate.

Please join myself and Arlo on Saturday, 16th September from 12noon at Lepe Country Park, Lepe Road, SO45 1AD for a family picnic with your pet. We welcome our local volunteers with their PAT dogs, along with family members, friends, neighbours, work colleagues too!

This event is open to ALL, and of course our amazing PETS!
