Manchester Marathon 2013 for North Lancashire CAB

Hi all!!

I'm training to run the Manchester Marathon on April 28th to raise funds for North Lancashire Citizens Advice Bureau.

Although I've been running for a few years now, I have yet to cover mileage anywhere near a marathon - This is the perfect opportunity to challenge myself :)

It is also the perfect opportunity to raise much needed funds for Citizens Advice. I have been volunteering as an advisor at the bureau for around 10 months now and I can see how important it is for the bureau to continue to provide the service it does.

The bureau provides advice on a variety of issues including debt, housing and employment. It also seeks to challenge recurrent problems within the community through social policiy initiatives; using evidence of clients' problems to campaign for changes in policies and services.

BUT ... A key principle of CAB is that is FREE.

As with any charity, it requires grants and donations to maintain its service.

In the current economic climate, the service provided by the bureau is needed more than ever, but with significant cuts to funding, finding the funds is increasingly difficult.
