Our story
We, Andrew & John, are riding the long route of Bike Oxford, hopefully all 74 miles, to raise money for Archway Foundation, a small Oxfordshire charity dedicated to reducing loneliness and helping people build meaningful connections within their communities. Archway's work supports individuals to feel included, valued and connected, making a real difference to everyday lives.
Every donation will help them continue this important work and reach more people who need support.
A quick bit about us.
We're brothers-in-law, and at a Christmas family gathering one of Andrew's brothers was trying to get rid of his old road bike. John foolishly took it off his hands, which quickly led to John being "volunteered" to join Andrew in riding Bike Oxford.
-
Andrew - Although I have done this ride once before, it will still be a challenge but doing it for such a worthwhile cause will help keep me going. Any contribution big or small would be hugely appreciated.
-
John - I haven’t ridden a bicycle in 20 years, so this isn’t just “a nice ride” — it’s a real challenge. I’m currently rebuilding my cycling experience from scratch, training to improve my fitness and stamina, and (quite literally) re-learning how to ride well enough to finish before the event ends.
Our fundraising goal is £500. If you’re able to donate, even a small amount, it will genuinely help — and it will give us a huge boost on the tougher training days.
Thank you for your support and for supporting Archway.
