Running for WAST

WAST is one of those services we all hope we’ll never need, yet every one of us relies on it being there.

Over the past few years, I’ve seen just how much pressure ambulance crews and support teams are under. Rising demand, increasing complexity, long shifts, difficult decisions, and the emotional weight of being there for people on their worst days. And still, they keep showing up.

I wanted to do something that shows I see that effort. Running felt like the right way to do that - a small personal challenge that reflects the much bigger challenges they face every day.

Every mile I run is a reminder of why this matters. Every donation, no matter the size, helps support staff wellbeing, community responders, specialist equipment and the people who keep this essential service going.

So I’m running for WAST - not because it’s easy, but because the work they do is anything but.

Your donations help WAST in:
• Supporting Community First Responders with training and equipment so they can attend appropriate 999 calls in their local areas.
• Funding the Wish Ambulance Service, giving patients at the end of their lives the chance to make a meaningful final journey.
• Providing wellbeing support for WAST staff, helping them deliver the best care in a demanding environment.
