Our story

In 2008, my brother, Andy Flindall, ran the London Marathon in record hot temperatures. That was until 10 years later in 2018, when I ran it when it was even hotter. Despite the challenges, we both managed to get round and raise lots of money for charity. However, we both feel like we have unfinished business with the London Marathon and wanted to give it another crack.

2020/21 has been a difficult year for lots of reasons, but even more so for many charities, who usually run events to raise money for fantastic causes. As West Midlands Chair of the Lords Taverners, this special charity is close to my heart, giving disadvantaged and disabled children a chance to get involved in sport. Lockdown has only made the work of the charity even more important, giving many kids their first opportunity to get involved in sport and hopefully start a lifetime of activity. I'm also in my final year as Chairman so want to go out with a bang!

Please give generously for a great cause!

Craig Flindall (June 2021)

I was pretty adamant that my first London marathon was going to my last, I somehow managed to go under 4 hours and raised a decent amount of Money for my chosen charity. Fast forward 10 years or so and I found myself watching my brother competing it in ridiculous heat and thinking thank god I’m not doing that again

However, that was then and this is now the last year or so has made me take stock of a lot of things and a few things have happened that made me think again when Craig asked me to run this years London marathon with him.

The Lords Taverners is a great charity who’s work is numerous and wide reaching, making it an obvious choice for me and brother to run for this year.

Please please, if anyone can spare any money it would be so appreciated towards this great charity.

Andy Flindall (June 2021)
