Raising for Leeds Hospitals Charity
Hello, my name is Ian and I was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in March 2019.
Inspired by my friends and family, and of course our wonderful grandson Benjamin, we are once again taking on the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon to raise money to support the Leeds Hospitals Charity appeal for the Rob Burrow Centre for Motor Neurone Disease. This state-of-the-art MND Care Centre has become a beacon of hope for those living with or affected by MND, it will without doubt give people with MND and their families the best possible care and support.
I’m privileged and humbled that I’ve been loaned the running wheelchair Rob used in 2023 to complete the inaugural marathon. So this one is for him and the centre which carries his name.
Thank you so much for your support. Every single penny matters and will help families like ours.
Thank you,
Ian, Rachael, Charley, Isea and Benjamin xxxxx

Great training run last week - On the hottest day of the year so far!
We hope it not this warm next week!
This was our 1st test in Rob's chair with Sir Kevin Sinfield at the extra mile in December. It was a lot colder than it looks!!
So here is our wonderful new Team Flatt member - Benjamin!
What more can we say! Look after each other!
Its been worth it for the views!

About us
As the charity of Leeds Teaching Hospitals, we provide support for eight areas which include Leeds General Infirmary, Leeds Children’s Hospital, Leeds Cancer Centre, St James’s University Hospital, Chapel Allerton Hospital, Seacroft Hospital, Wharfdale Hospital and Leeds Dental Institute.
We support NHS staff to deliver the best care for over a million patients and their families each year. Working with local communities, schools and businesses across the city and beyond, each year we provide £5 million in additional funding for Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust.
Including building a specialist Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Care Centre in Leeds, to give people living with MND the best quality of life. With your help, we can build a state-of-the-art MND Care Centre, to give people with MND and their families the best possible care and support.
Through generous donations we have funded life saving equipment, research fellowships, state-of-the-art technology and improvements to the patient environment. Every penny donated to Leeds Hospitals Charity helps to support the hard-working staff at our hospitals and enhance the experience of patients and their families.
As a gift for Paul and Richard’s marriage, they have asked me to donate to a charity of my choice. I couldn’t be more impressed with the work Ian has done and MND community. You’re truly making such a difference!
