About us

Our Vision is a community where no dream is off limits

We help our community pursue their dreams by improving their skills, resilience, well-being and confidence. We provide community support for local people across Merton, Wandsworth, Kingston predominately using sport as an engagement tool in four areas, education, sports development, social inclusion and health and well-being.

Ever since the Foundation was created in 2013, we have used the power of sport to reach those in our local boroughs who most need our help. We tackle the real problems that blight our community, bringing opportunities and life-changing experiences to the doorsteps of those who are so often left behind.

We give young people new skills and show them what a brighter future could look like. We help those who are unemployed discover new pathways into work. We facilitate opportunities for people struggling with their mental health to find support and we help older adults to keep active and tackle loneliness.

Wombles Walk... back to Plough Lane

Event date: Saturday 30th April

The Wombles Walk is a 10km or 20km sponsored walk, with AFC Wimbledon Fans, ex-players, staff and members of our local community taking to raise funds for AFC Wimbledon Foundation.

Starting on Wimbledon Common, where AFC Wimbledon held football trials 20 years ago, the routes go all around marvellous Merton, along the Wandle and… back to Plough Lane before the last game of the season against Accrington Stanley.

All money raised will enable AFC Wimbledon Foundation to continue helping our community pursue their dreams by improving people's skills, resilience, well-being and confidence.

People like J...

'When J first got in touch with AFC Wimbledon about the all-inclusive league, J was not keen in taking part. Although sociable amongst his peers, J was not comfortable playing with others. Through much persuasion, J finally agreed to take part. J has since attended all tournaments, attends all training sessions, and managed to find the confidence to find paid work for the first time in his life. I honestly believe that J would not of had the confidence to do this if it was not through the football. Playing and training in a safe environment, has seen his quality of life improve dramatically.'
