Bulgarian language for free

Bulgarian language for free is a volunteer initiative providing Bulgarian language lessons for refugees residing in the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The organization was established in March 2022. along with the arrival of the first refugees from Ukraine, after the full-scale invasion has begun.

We provide online lessons, through Vedamo platform. Each level contains 20 lessons, with each lesson having a revision. Level A1 lasts about two months, with sessions twice a week for 1:30 hours.

At the moment we have about 100 students, mostly from Ukraine, but there are also refugees from other countries. 19 classes level A1 and 2 classes level A2 have already graduated. Among our students there are people who have passed the Bulgarian language exam for doctors, as well as many who have managed to find a job and integrate successfully in Bulgaria. Currently 11 tutors and two administrators who compile the schedules in the platform and solve technical problems, support the initiative. The work of our volunteers is completely gratuitous, as each of them spends at least 2-3 times a week 1-2 hours, sacrifices time and family. In order to expand our support we are also recruiting new tutors.

Facing a situation with rising number of refugees, Vedamo platform was provided free of charge until the end of September. As of 01.10.2022, we have to start paying Vedamo and their offer is 120 euro per month instalment payments or 1200 euro annual fee.

In order to not forsake our students at a key point of their successful integration in Bulgaria and its social and educational system, any financial assistance will help us to continue supporting refugees, as well as to spread Bulgarian language over the world .

As an evidence of payments, the donors will receive an invoice and a written confirmation by Vedamo.
