Catherine's 10k for Radio Redhill

In September, I'm going to attempt to run a 10k race to raise funds for Radio Redhill.

Radio Redhill is a hospital radio station serving the East Surrey hospital and local area.

Radio Redhill volunteers go out and chat to patients, and play the music they ask to hear, every single day. So many people enjoy hearing their favourite songs, and are grateful of something to help them escape boredom, and the noise of hospital wards. They often also enjoy the opportunity to talk to someone about their favourite music and their memories. So, although hospital radio is not necessarily at the forefront of everybody's minds when they think of charities, I believe that this entirely volunteer-run station does help people feel more comfortable during their stay in hospital.

But the station always needs money to pay for essential things that keep us on the air day-to-day: licensing fees, essential equipment repairs, and pairs of headphones that we give out to patients for free; as well as new songs that people want to hear in our library.

I'm aiming to raise £200 between now and the Wimbledon Common 10k in September. If you have so much as a spare pound to give I will be so so grateful, and personally promise free hugs and the possibility of baked goods to anyone who donates!
