Gavin's London Marathon
Mitis Covey is raising money for Pancreatic Cancer UK
My story
I have never been a person who thought exercise was fun or a good idea! But when as a fit and healthy man my father in law received a pancreatic cancer diagnosis, it turned our lives upside down.
We're incredibly lucky that my father in law caught his cancer when he did (if you want to know more about how to spot signs and symptoms check this out https://www.pancreaticcancer.org.uk/information-and-support/facts-about-pancreatic-cancer/signs-and-symptoms/).
So lucky in fact that he has now survived for 5 years of which only 5% of people do, in fact survival rates are so terrible that 1 in 4 people die within a month of diagnosis.
As a family we've also been committed to doing something positive out of all of this - it's why we've been involved with the amazing work of Pancreatic Cancer UK to raise awareness and help any other families affected by this terrible disease. We hope raising awareness and funds for this amazing charity can help others.
I recently completed the Ride100 2019 for PCUK (I didn't own a bike before i signed up) and now the Marathon, so I have purchased some trainers (I didn't own any of them either) and hope that i can complete the marathon.
Your donations will help PCUK continue to do their amazing work.
I really appreciate all your support and thank you for any donations.
Thank you for checking out my page. Making a donation is fast, easy and secure thanks to Give as you Live Donate. They'll take your donation and pass it onto Pancreatic Cancer UK.
