Our story

A survivor co-producer group are taking Steps Together to mark International Women's Day 2023. Survivors will be completing a walk together, on Friday March 10th 2023.

Swansea Women's Aid supports women and children who have been affected by domestic abuse. SWA is firm in its belief that domestic abuse is a cause and consequence of gender inequality. This IWD we wish to celebrate and encourage a move towards equality and mutual respect - and way from gender-based hurt, harm and injustice.

On IWD, our thoughts are with those still trapped in fear of domestic violence and abuse – that they may find the support to get away, stay away and recover. Our wish is that the communities and individuals around them will face the truth of the physical, psychological and sexual violence and abuse in their midst – which must be acknowledged, heard, healed.

We ask for your support, and if possible your donations - towards the safety and practical, financial, emotional and therapeutic support for survivors of abuse and their children in their Long Walk to Freedom.

Please share with your friends, family, and wider networks.

Happy International Women's Day.
